Can someone please post some pics of oscars in their natural habitat or even a tank that is setup as an oscar biotope.

there was a series on foxtel, not long back called "amazon uncovered" i think it had a couple of shots of a biotope for oscars, any ways look it up on youtube or download it from the net.. but hope it helps.

Not an easy task - outside of large driftwood and sand any other natural material will be uprooted , rolled, shot at the glass - Oscars are vey playful.

What do you mean not an easy task?

It actually will be fairly easy since they are quite widespread throughout the amazon basin from Peru, Brazil, Columbia, French Guiana and is reported from Argentina.

Not easy because often oscars don't play well with aquascaping...but yes, they are widespread Amazonian type fish so I'd go white sand, nice driftwood, and call it a day.

Here's mine and my O seems to like it.
Originally it's his territory with the SD's, the other fish joined later.

Bogwood with gravel bottom or white sand would be good with no companions. My friend has the same biotope.

Nice tank Noddy, mine is similar but I added some Rainbow Rocks and roots for my smaller spotted SD's to get away from the O's.
