1. how to identify oscar male, female
2. What is the reqired tank capacity.
3. Is it ok to leave the parent and fry in the same tank.
4. how often oscar fish bread.
5. i heard most of the fishes from shops are sterilized. is it true
6. if above is true, then can i got small oscar fish and grow them in group of 5, and wait for them to mature.

Male and Female are difficult to sex and also read they have to atleast 3 yrs. old.
200 or larger.
You could leave fry in with the parents.
Personally don't know how often they breed.

I agree with this.
I don't believe they are sterilized, its just that most aquarists use too small tanks.
After growing up a group of juvies in a 150 gal, a bonded pair spawned in that tank a number of times, but spawns were never successful, it was such a small size tank.
A pond or pool of 500 gallons or more would probably be much better for a mated pair.

I tried to figure out the sex of my oscars by looking at their vents and I concluded that they were both male until one of them layed eggs a couple weeks ago.? now I just have to figure out what the other one is.... My oscars cleaned off a rock with a flat surface on top and layed their eggs there. I just recently bought a large peice of slate with greater surface area.20190903_091819.jpg
