hi! i have a tiger oscar ( not agresive) in a 300 gallon and want to add some angelfish (around 16 adults ) to the tank, but not sure if that is possible.

the 300 gallon tank has a lot of hiding spots and has very good filtration( capable of supporting a 2000 gallon)

any thoughts on this

Yes it is possible. One of my current tanks has a 9 inch oscar with medium sized angelfish. See attached. The reason this works is because oscars will try to eat fish they can fit into their mouths. Because angels have long vertical fins an oscar will approach them but is confused as to how they fit in its mouth. When I introduced the angels I put the largest one in first. The oscar swam right up to it and stared intently at it for a good 10 seconds and then swam off. I then put the rest in and it didn't even blink at them. They've been together for months now. Zero issues. I would put one adult angel in first and then introduce the rest after your oscar makes its decision. Every oscar is different but hopefully it works out for you.

Make sure the Angel's are not bite sized. Toni my Oscar tried to eat a silver dollar but it was just to big and she spit it out.
