Oscar's and Pinky's

I have 3 Oscars and have kept Oscars for some time now. But i have never tried to feed them frozen Pinky's( Baby Mice ) is this recomended ? or can't there digestive system handle them ?

use pinky feedings as entertainment only. prolly not a good part of a regular diet.

and use live pinkies. Feeding dead ones provides no entertainment.

hahah, true get a live one. entertainment feedings are always the best. i think mammals have way too much fat to be a staple food item.

i fed my oscars this all the time

ya...I have it on video, a baby hamster being chased and eaten by oacars.
I did it like a week ago.
It was AWESOME.

cichlids don't choke; they have powerful chewing jaws in their throat, along the insides of their gills, called pharyngeal mill/jaws, that thoroughly tear up food before it enters the stomach

I'd be worried about the nails on a live fighting mouse. Still try it , just somthing to look out for.

there is nothing wrong with it as far as health is concerned only thing is very very messy

they love mice hahaha acutly they love all food..... hahahaha
