ok so this is my situation im gonna let youknow about me and where i live you tell me what you think i should do..........

ok so im 20 im from philadelphia pa and i dont have a job atm but i love fish have plenty and turtles but i want to step it up i havea huge yard the same size as my row house and i want to dig pretty much a big ditch get liners and w.e i need and throw some sharks in but i dont know what id need to do everything i keep seeing seems like they have to be enclosed ...... i can get a nice big heater and chiller or w.e needed but i cannot facilitate a enclosure isthis an instant problem:? or is there a way i can make this work im thinking of digging pretty much either a 12 foot by 6-7 foot rectangly type hole or a 12 foot circle since thats whats started from my old pool and maybe 3-4 foot deep if possible i realize this is going to take me and m friends a considerable amount of time but is it doable and what are the specifics id need to complete this and btw ive never dont saltwater lol but dont look at me ass too much of a noob i pick up things extremely quick

Whether you're serious or not, I hope you're flame retardant...

If you are serious, Yes not being able to enclose it will be an immediate show-stopper. I'm from the Philly area too and there's no way you'd be able to effectively control the water temp/freezing...

This idea could work but it would have to be in a good sized heated green house of some kind in that the good Sharks like 75F to 80F salt water and a outdoor pond would only really work for most freashwater game fish or Goldfish and Kio in that area do to the cold. If you did build a outdoor salt water pond the heatting bill for it would be a nightmare. Instead you could add a fish room to the back of your house and put the large shark tank in there. Or you could set up a indoor pond in a basement.

Indoor would be a better idea. At least fro now, Grasshoppa!:)

ummm ya good luck keeping temp correct. also, saltwater is expensive and will cost a fortune for upkeep. have you looked into idk maybe 50,000w heater or a chiller for that size? nvm when it rains and snows, it will be diluted, and well... good luck. doesnt sound like you are a millionaire or you would just enclose one, and i think you would have to be a millionaire to make one work

btw, 12x7x4 is like 2500 gallons, hope you have the funds and experience and even then i dont think it is really big enough for most sharks. good luck though i want to see pics. afterall you are only about 200 miles from where jaws attacked right?

It's always easy to dream big when you are flat broke. You are at a point in life where the next fifteen years you are going to be just working to survive. The reality of life is this: life sucks and then it sucks some more.

Get a goldfish and be happy with it. Better yet, get a catfish that is sold as a "shark". When it gets too big, you can trade it in on another catfish.

Hey!

Why don't you lighten up a little. There's nothing that I can't stand more than someone that Purposefully like to Burst anothers "Bubble"...
