Pairing flowerhorns

Hey guys I have 2 flowerhorns they are in there own seperate 3ft tanks and I was thinking about getting a 6ft and trying to pair them I’ve had them both for about 2 years now and want to use the 3fts for another project has anyone had any luck with this before.

More then likely the male will be infertile and will kill any tank mates i dunno what's harder finding a fertile male or keeping him from killing females.

After spending 2 years living alone, it's extremely unlikely they will get along. A 6ft tank is not very large - that being said, neither should be living in 3ft tanks, they are MUCH too small - and the male will likely just take over the 6ft tank and kill anything else. Assuming you actually have a male and female, you haven't said whether you know the sex of them or not. Either way, forcing a pair of adult flowerhorns into pairing is almost impossible, especially after living alone their whole lives and in a tank that is too small for a pair even at the best of times.

Thanks for the reply it’s hard cause I don’t have the space for both of them anymore as I just want to have the one 6ft so I’m not sure what to do as I might put a divider in the middle or try and rehome one but don’t have the heart to pick between them
