Was witnessing strange scratching behavior from my bichirs, let it go for a few days. wrote it off as nothing. Today i decided to treat my tank with Seachem Para guard as a broad spectrum control of parasites.

After dosing the para guard i finally noticed small white worms attached to my bichirs, and with a little reading discovered that the best way to kill these worms is to use Jungle Parasite Clear.

Now, how do i go about this? Add the Jungle parasite clear in addition to the Seachem Para guard? Do i add carbon to remove the paraguard before adding the parasite clear, do i remove it with water changes? Or both?

Personally, I would do a massive water change, then add Parasite Clear. When using parasite clear DO NOT overdose (you'll start seeing floaters).

I've been using Parasite Clear for years and had always had good results (treated for flukes, fin rot, anchor worm, fish septicemia, etc.....).

Buy the 100 tab dispenser from Foster and Smith for $25. This way, the next time you have an outbreak, you won't have to go out and spend $20 dollars for Parasite Clear from Petsmart/Petco.

Good luck! :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

That sounds like a good idea, It came in an 8 tab box, so I'll start with 1/4 dose first and if the worms hang on I'll up it to 1/2. As for instructions on box I guess I'll keep treatment up for 3 weeks?
