How long has the tank been up? What’s ur feeding schedule? What’s ur water change schedule? What’s ur water parameters now? Are u able to switch to a sump? Seems like ur filtration isn’t handling the bioload.

+1 You have too many fish that produce a lot of waste the Oscars and Pleco's are 2 of the species. Also would suggest replacing the Canister Filters with a Sump. Also Cannister Filters are Nitrate producing due too the grude that can build up in them over time.

The tank has been set up for year and half now got all my fish as young but they are now all pretty big my Oscar's are 12 inch zebra about 10 so are most of my fish the ph is perfect ammonia is perfect nitrite is perfect nitrate is through the roof really bad aye do half tank changes every week that tank has been fine up untill the last 2 or 3 weeks noticed the rise in ammonia and nitrate so got the ammonia under control but cant seem to do the same with nitrate Iam going to se up my other tank and put the devil the 2 parrots and the Dempsey in it and a few others do you think it could be two many big fish my tank runs on 2 fx6 filters the fx6 filters 3500 litres of water an hour aye have 2 of them more than enough filtration for a tank my size iam just stuck now and the devil and Dempsey and parrot fish all seem to be hiding laying on bottom of tank the bigger fish are totally fine the Oscar's and zebra pleco jags ect thanks again

How much water were you removing during water changes? Until you rehome or put fish in other aquariums increase water change %. Filters will not control Nitrate only water changes removal of waste from filters and subtrate vacuuming.

I was doing half tank water changes weekly for a while but spoke to people at the aquarium shop and they said just do 25% weekly so did for a while but going to go back to 50% changes with my filtration and water changes aye thought that would be plenty but it's not any more but makes sense as the fish are a lot bigger now
