Payara agression

So I have two Payara Tatauaia in my 250 gallon tank that are about 6 inches long. The problem is that one of them absolutely chases the hell out of the other one and tries to bite it. Can you not keep multiples together? Or do I need another one to make a school?

3 doesn't make a school.. but it's always recommended to have an odd number. 2 of anything never really works even with schooling fish because schooling fish have a hierarchy so if there isn't multiples the less aggro of the two gets picked on. 5 seems to be more of a magic number if you could afford it but definitely get another if you can to avoid one being killed hopefully

Getting more about same size should help to spread out the aggression. Otherwise get some dithers to keep the tank busy.

Agreed, can try some type of barb or SD. Will work to an extent normally but some species can focus on their own kind, feel like I read tats do that but not positive so id say it's worth a shot

Hmm it does look a bit more golden colour in person?
