Hello all I am thinking of adding some peacock bass with my oscars in the future. Do you think it will work??? I plan for the oscas to be like 5''-6'' and the Peacock Bass to be like 4''. What type of bass will you suggest?? Also the tank size will be 125 or 75. Anyone have any experinces or pics of bass with oscars???
BAF!

should work, but watch agression of oscars if cichla r smaller...Cichla are not to aggressive and very fragile at a small size..

Ok so what could PBASS go with when smaller?? My O'S are actully not mean/ aggresive towards any of its tankmates yet.

If your oscars are large then the concern would be with them eating your juvi cichla. Also you will need a bigger tank for Cichla within a year or two.
Ok what if I buy the PBASS at 2'' now and add them with my 2'' Oscars?? Will it Work out if they are the same size??? Yes I do plan on upgrading them.

yeh it will work out, and they pretty much have the same growth rate of 1inch a month so youll be fine.. if you check out my album in my profile i keep oscars with my pbass, i have monos and ocellaris, if i were you i would start with these types of cichla as there the more common species, id hate to lose rare cichla to oscars..

i have an oscar with my tem, occasional shows whos boss moves towards the oscar tho. they been together since they were both like 3-4" now they are the sizes in my sig. they were fine tho in my 150gal while growing up. it is doable, but does depend on the fish too. goodluck

I have kept similar size flowerhorn and P. bass in a 2ft quarantine tank for a month or so.
The only aggression I saw was from the flowerhorn so had to put in a separator.

The P. bass is not that aggressive to similar or larger size fish.
