my flowerhorns are really picky eaters.. they will only eat beef heart?? I buy them pellets and it’s said they are scared of them?? I recently bought them okiko platinum pellets but they just turn their noses up at them but as soon as I bring them the beef heart they eat it?? I tried not feeding them anything but the pellets but still they wouldn’t eat them. I tried mixing the pellets with the beef heart but they some how managed to separate the pellets from the beef heart!. flowerhorns are meant to be really big eaters and eat anything when ever but mine just Arnt bothered about anything but beef heart? Any advice would be much appreciated thank you

You’ll be amazed how long you they can go without eating. Starve them till they eat....they’ll eventually eat.

If you must, crush any pellet to a powder and blend it into your beefheart mix. Probably one of the worst thing you can feed your fish imo.

I know it clouds my water really bad and I’m always having to net out the left overs that’s why I want to get them off beef heart, thanks for the reply!

you just need grow bigger balls than your flowerhorn and see who blinks first lol

why should he eat pellets when he knows you will feed him beef heart if he refuses to eat pellets

just throw away the beef heart and keep throwing pellets in....

every flowerhorn i've owned ate everything...from pellets..shrimp..crickets..superworms...i prefer to freeze all my foods first so the fish don't get used to only wanting to eat live foods...and it makes things easier to keep crickets/superworms in a container in the freezer then trying to keep them alive...just starve them out and if they don't take to pellets..try other frozen foods...

That’s what I mean, flowerhorns are really big eaters, I’m treating my male with CZ clear as he has white poo hoping it will cure him and he will start eating properly
