Any info on these?
I was thinking of picking up a few. Some people say they're tropical, some say subtropical.
Thanks

Pipefish are very cool but quite challenging to keep. I've kept Dorichtys martensii before and I imagine Microphis deocata is similar. They do well in clean, well-filtered water with lots of plants and minimal current. NO tankmates - this is really important. They are very slow finicky eaters and they absolutely cannot compete with other fish for food. The one exception would maybe be some shrimp because they feed on shrimp eggs. They typically only eat live foods so you should probably have steady live cultures going before you get them. I fed mine daphnia and microworms.

Thanks for the info. I'm doing a heavily planted 30g. I'm starting a daphnia culture. The only tank mates are going to be pond snail, but I may try adding some shrimp once they're settled in.

Thanks again.
