Planeria??

Recently kinda destroyed my 75 trying to catch fish out so I decided to completely redo it with fish still in it, I removed black sand and replaced with fine white sand and cut up my driftwood to smaller chunks, process took 2 days and now today I noticed a **** load of tiny hair like things on the glass, I did a but of research and found its planeria, so how do I get rid of it? I also found that the cause can be unbalanced water quality so maybe should I step up my filtration? I'm running a eheim canister rated for 92 gallons and a sponge filter.

Are you sure they are planaria and not hydra or detritus worms?

Such fun little creatures to deal with...

Feed less, do more water changes, and possibly upgrade your eheim 2215 to a 2217.

I'm 99% sure it's planeria, I have a 2215 now but the tank is fairly full stock so I might get a fx4 and move my 2215 to my 55 so it has 2 or just get another 2215 and run 2 on 75 gal, can I do 1 bigger water change per week or is it better to do more smaller?

if they are hair-like they are most likely detritus worms, if they look like a flatworm with an arrow shaped head they are planaria.

I had a recent sever outbreak. Did a 50% water change and medicated with the linked medication. Great product and is affective when used as described. Didn't affect my Arowana or plants.

Are detritus worms harmful? And how do u treat it? Trying to stay away from chemicals much rather do it naturally, I have an eel so it wold be best.

Unfortunatly , medication is the only real solution short term. Over time, fewer feedings and increased water changes will starve the worms..

Will plecos take care of them?

They avoid lights, also. General harmless, free fish food. They will do more good than harm. A mini micro predators.
