So I got my tank tonight! I'll be updating this thread as the tank progresses. I'll be moving all the contents of my 40 gallon dwarf planted tank to this one. Here are a few pics of the new tank and one of the old that it'll be replacing.

The two peices in the 40 took about a week to sink, and I wouldn't get plants from HOT, we don't have that great of a selection (although we do have Java Ferns for $2.98 a bunch). I'm going to order some online and probably get some from WyldFya too. When I'm ready to order some I'll let you know and we can just make one big order.

Yea I LOVE bowfront tanks, we have a 155 bow in my store I drool over all the time

Well, all the driftwood from my 40 is going in there in addition to the peice chillin in the tank. I'll be using sand for substrate (What's in the 40 now, and more if needed). I'm doing to do a moss carpet on the right front 1/3 of the tank. Under that I'm going to use something like eco-complete or one of the other plant substrates, eventually the moss will cover it and you shouldn't be able to see it. May even put a light coat of sand over it but I'm worried about toxic gasses getting trapped under it. Now the peice of dritwood that in the 72 in the above pictures I'm going to cover the branches with weeping moss and Philippine ferns. On the other peices I haven't made up my mind yet what I'll do with them. The one peice of bog root already has 2 Java Ferns rooted to it, and I'm finally starting to see some new growth on those since adding the 2x54 T5-HO. On the other peice I may try some of the Flame Moss I'd also like a few rare plants in there too, but haven't done a lot of research on them yet. I was thinking about doing a Christmas moss wall on the right side of the tank, and possibly the overflow cover. I'll have some tall dense plants in the back along with a few Amazon Swords. Mid ground I was thinking about a lot micro swords with maybe some small rock out crops peeking though. I'm going all out on this thing!

Now for hardware I'm going pressureized CO2. I'm picking up an Eheim 2262 for my 125 and will be moving my either my Cascade 1000 or Fluval 405 for use on this, and going to plumb the cannister to the overflow. I was thinking about plumbing the CO2 to the intake tube of the overflow but I'm worried about cavatation and noise in the cannister. I'll hide the Stealth heater in the overflow box. I'm picking up a Nova Extreme Pro 432w (8x54) T5-HO lighting fixture on Saturday for $200!:naughty: And have a 2x54 Nova Extreme T5-HO fixture that I will put on there IF I need it.

I'm going to screw around in sketch-up and photoshop over the weekend and try to come up with a rough idea of the layout. Still alot of work to be done and I'm kinda on short time cause I've got 3 red texas coming that I need to make room for.

sounds awesome man. you got it all down huh?? :) i really like planted bowfronts, they look great. id throw in some massive pieces of drift wood and plant the crap out of it so that only a few neons have room to swim  i really like the look of densely planted tanks but i dont wanna create one yet!

what brand of CO2 equipment are you running? i ordered my lighting yesterday. got the Solar 4ft 4 bulb T5HO. read good stuff about that brand on PTC so hopefully it lasts for a while

I was actually going to start researching the CO2 stuff tonight. What did you go with on your new project?

And I'm going driftwood hunting later on this week, there a state park right in my back yard with a 20-30' wide fast flowing, shallow river running through it with a pretty extensive creek system feeding it right in my back yard (seriously it's a 3 minute ride on my mountain bike to get there)

http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/central/patapscovalley.html

It's where I got 75% of the rock that's in my 125 African tank, now I'm going to go load up on driftwood. I'll be selling some of it here too at really reasonable prices, so look for a thread in a week or two for that!

That light I'm getting is ]V[onster!
