Recently got into bichirs have 1 endlicheri at the moment will he go after plants in the sand or will he eat them?

I've seen my endli bury in the sand so that may be a issue. I suggest attaching plants like Anubius or Java fern to a stone or driftwood.

Thank you just want to keep plants so the nitrates and nitrites stay low in the aquarium and reduce some ammonia since they eat alot

Coming up to 3 years i kept stuff like oscars, green terrors, leaf fish, synos and plecos with a few other community fish
