I first bought my sil aro when he or she was 3" ever since then, the scale colors were always whitish silver with a hint of red in the tail/fins area.
In whatever lighting conditions. The colors just described are the same.

I've seen plenty of YouTube videos, were a typical sil aro and a platinum gracefuly swimming together; very obvious of the tint, color difference.

Will my aro keep this color and tint? Do I really have a well sought after platinum sil aro?
I'll post pictures using my DSLR when I get home, but some insight and input would be appreciated til then.

Unless it was a mistake by everyone who had the Aro before you I'd say, no you don't have a Platinum Silver. Likely just a nicely colored Juvi.

And by mistake I mean from the breeder, to the wholesaler, to the LFS and everyone in between it would be a mistake for them to not notice the Platinum. That is potentially a HUGE profit for them and something I am sure they all watch very carefully. Especially the breeder (or catcher if they were WC) because that is the difference between a normal payday and basically winning the lottery.

Not to say it couldn't happen but it would be very rare and you'd be VERY lucky.

How long do you keep the lights on on your tank?

This is my White Aro, so call snow/platinum

theres also "high shine", "show" and some nicely colored juvies. some breeders try and make profit out of silvers, even manufacturer "fake platinum" by putting them in a white styrofoam box for a day, which causes them to temporarily turn white. if its a platinum, youve pretty much won the lottery.

Not platinum. Platinum is PURE WHITE, no tint of any other colour.

yes, ive read that post on MFK about how some LFS house sil aros in a styrofoam box.
ive also read that there's different pigmentation of each of the aros of interest.

sorry if none of you can examine my aro in detail, i shot with a nikkor 70-300 VR. i adjusted my camera to shoot at 3 different light exposures; to accept all angles of opinions. i did not use any lighting, besides the sunlight of today.
AND yes, SOLID_SNAKE is suffering from DE. it happen the 5th day after i brought her home.

just a dull arowana to me.

A true plantum is pure white, with dark eyes. does anyone have an albino aro?

oh ok...just had to ask; because my 'dull' arowana is not a typical silver arowana, regarding their color.
besides, if a platinum arowana has dark eyes, are you implying the poster who added a picture of his plat. aro. isnt really what he is keeping?
