I feed my EBJD and Red Sevs Hikari Staple floating pellets and I see my pleco floating upside down muchin on them, wondering if this was normal haha, will try to get a good pic of him next time he does it.

my pleco also goes up to the top of the glass hunting for pellets

mine as well and i was told by a lot of fellow fish hobbyist that they have never seen this. when i gave one of the plecos who did this to my sister he never ate that way again

They are doing this because they know there is food up there. Try giving them sinking food before the floating pellets. They should stop... however there is no harm to them.

Mine does it too. He has learnt to wedge himself in a piece of driftwood so his mouth is at the water line, then sucks up the pellets as they drift past on the current. You can here the slurping sound from across the room as he tries to suck them in.

He seems to like the floating cichlid pellets better than the crusty green algae tablets, and will go for the floaters first, then go back to the bottom for the sinkers.

yup very common. Pleco's need food also - not just whatever they can find. Try feeding any kind of veggie in the squash family also. They love it. zucchini, pumpkin, cucumber etc.

For sure, mine eats those too, but he will leave them if he spots some floaters :D
