I recently bought a plywood tank sold to me as a 450 gallon. Turned out its closer to 600g. It's dimensions are 8' by 4' by 2.5'. The glass was 5/8. I say was, because it blew out all over my yard. After a little research, the only solution I've found is to cut 6 inches off the top. (Then itll be around 475g) Anyone have any other solution? Hell if 5/8 can't hold it as is, what will? If I decide to take the 6 inches off, what would you recommend the glass thickness? Also is a 2 inch parameter around the glass enough?

My 220, 6'x2'x2.5'H is made out of 5/8" glass. It shouldn't be a problem. If you're still worried then you can always replace the glass with 3/4" glass, or just don't fill the tank up all the way.

I have 1/2" glass in my 600 and its almost the exact same size, and yes 2" if just right for a sealing surface, thats whay I did
