Hi,

Im looking to start building a large plywood aquarium in the next couple of weeks, I’ve been reading through all the old threads for the best way to water seal it… I’m struggling to find any of the products people mention i.e Pond Armor, sweetwater in the UK and was wondering if anybody knew if this would work… It’s called G4 pond sealant and is fairly reasonable in my lfs.

Cheers

Well, it says it can be used to seal ponds but didn't mention that it can be applied directly to wood. It is a concrete sealer. Your best bet is to call the manufacturer. Good luck.

polyester resin isn't fish safe from what i've read.
this what i got

or you can get this
http://www.ebay.ie/itm/All-Purpose-..._Varnish_MJ&hash=item3ccacdf78b#ht_1376wt_955

wher g4 is concearned ther are 2 variants, 1 for concrete, 1 for wood

+1, polyester resins not suitable for long tern submersion. You'll have to seal it with a epoxy based resin or sealer.
