I have kept a few polypterus species over the year. Right now I got 1 orni. left. I wane get some more but first I have to rehouse my bullheads. The orni. is hiding the whole time behind my background. Is this weird? And what can I do so that he comes more into vision?

Orni as in Ornate or something else? My ornate I have had for about 6 months now (he's 11") and when I got him he hide for at least the first 3-4 months, I hardly ever saw him. Then about 2 months ago he just completely changed and started coming out. Now he's out and about all the time and pretty much as active as my dels are.

Most Polypterus don't like light especially if bright so they hide also as some mature they become bolder and don't hide as much.
