I'm planing on doing some DIY cave decor for my fishtanks but I'm really unsure what material to use. I've been looking at polystyrene, fiberglass or potters clay. I like the potters clay idea but I really don't want to have it fired I was wondering if I could let it dry for a couple of weeks and then just paint it with pond-shield which is easy to get. I can get plenty of polystyrene but I'm struggling to find paint that is certified Aquarium safe. Fiberglass though I have used it (in other non aquatic projects) is messy and stick so I really don't want to steer into that direction.
I can get some potters clay for extremely cheap (cost price) and I also have experience with potters clay but I don't have anywhere I can have it fired at this time so I was wondering if I just paint it with pond shield would it be save in my fish tanks.
