Pro Heat Radiant Panels

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I do not use them, because it is very expensive to get US stuff through our customs, BUT I know the very good quality of Pro-Products products, Seth.

The best herpers I know stateside use Bob's heat panels and swear that they go for years on end without failing.

Thanks Miguel. I actually talked to one of their reps a few months ago at a reptile show and they seemed like pretty good products even though they are quite pricey. But they come with a 10 year warranty and are said to be able to last 30-50 years before needing replaced so they sound like a worthy investment.

I don't personally use them...but I have heard nothing but good things about them. I use the Radiant Heat Panels from Reptile Basics http://www.reptilebasics.com/rbi-radiant-heat_panels/ and I love them. Plus, Rich's customer service is second to none.

It is more costly up front, but you never have to worry if it is working and there is no need to keep spare bulbs or ceramic heat emitters on hand. I've never heard of a RHP failing.

Same here man , heard nothing but good things , was thinking about ackies when i saw one at a show as well.

Hi,

I have one, but Im not using it at the moment. I think Its the PE 125, I bought It along time ago. Its definatly a quality product, probably the best RHP out there.
What are you trying to accomplish with the RHP, in a monitor lizards cage?

It would depend on what you'd be using them for........

They wouldn't work for a basking spot, since they won't get warm enough for a Monitor, and they won't work to bring up the ambient temperature.......

Radient heat is a completely different animal compared to direct heat, so the context in which they can be used is totally different.......

Thanks for the input everyone. I still would like to incorporate one into my final enclosure design. Obviously one of these wouldn't work for a basking spot and I'll still use something like a ceramic heat emitter for the desired temps I need.
