I'm excited to look at these fish picking up color as they become sexually mature. I'm not aware of anything written about their behavior or biology so I will post here whatever I can share. As far as cichlids go, these are mild mannered, they are piscivores and also relish shrimp. Their large eyes and protrusible mouth makes them amazing hunters. Lately, the scales in ventral area and fins have picked up very nice coloring.
