I bought a new house in August and have been dealing with this issue since then. The new sinks have the inset flush aerator kits in them, so I ordered the removal tool, but when you remove it there is a large center plastic pipe that blocks anything but the aerator from screwing into it.

I went and bought a replacement faucet with an external aerator thinking I had outsmarted it but the aerator threads on the new sink were way too small for the python adapter or any of the step-downs I could find for it.

My last and final attempt was buying the python universal adapter which ended up not being large enough to go over the faucet head so that didn't work either.

The brand is MOEN and I have the green key sized aerator.

Anybody got any ideas? I am tired of using a water hose to fill up a brute trash can and then pump the water into the tanks.

For reference, this is similar to the faucet I have and this is what I am talking about.

I went to the hardware store and got adapter fittings that somehow worked, took some walking around.
After a while the python on/off end worn out, and so I cut it off the tube and replaced it with a copper lawn sprinkler gang valve, open the free one to test temp, and open up the others to tanks when ready to fill.
At that point I was already using my pump to send old water directly to the garden.

buy a small submersible pump and use that to fill and remove water...im not sure how many gph my pump but it had a small enough inlet/outlet tube that fit my python tubing...i use a bucket in the sink with water flowing into bucket and set the pump in the bucket to fill the tank back up...no more carrying buckets back and forth or worrying about how to attach python to faucet...it was the best and smartest 20 bucks i spent on fish stuff lol...

I use a GT Water Products Inc part # 95-B to adapt my sink faucet to accept a standard garden hose.

I have a small pump and a Mag 18 to move water upstairs and a 55 gal barrel. Tubing is 1/2" ID PVC. I have one short section with a hook and 50' and 100' lengths. All components have quick disconnects that shut off flow when disconnected. All tubing is secured with stainless steel Oetiker cinch clamps that aren't bulky like worm screws or weak and hard to use like snap fittings.

I fill from the washing machine cold water outlet which has its own quick disconnect. I can also drain to the basement, fill from the basement, or drain to the lawn. It's all modular so I can quickly setup what I need. I also have a remote control.

I just use large Aqueon gravel vac and dishcharge it into a storage tote with a Harbor Freight Tools submersable pump dropped in it. The type a garden hose threads onto. You can route the hose anywhere you want. I send it out the door and onto my lawn.

No need for special fittings, tubing, quick disconnects, etc.

I refill from the faucet I described a post or two above.

Appreciate the suggestions, but I’ve been using the pump in a container of water method for a few months. That isn’t time friendly when changing 150 gallons of water at a time.

I deliberately slow down refills using a timer that turns the pump on 2 minutes and off for 8 minutes then repeats. I go do something else unless the tank is close to being full. Or when the tank is being drained.
