Hi guys, I need some help. My flowerhorn has not been eating and is pooping white which also looks like white beads(circles). Do you guys have any suggestions on what I should do? He is still aware and would follow my finger through the glass.
Welcome to the forum Nicholas. Can't know for sure (esp. without knowing more about set up and water parameters) but it's likely he has a Hexamita parasite infection, which is a huge problem esp. with FH's (just use the Search function "flowerhorn white poo" and you'll see hundreds of similar posts. Thanks! I quick question. I have been using prazipro to try to heal my flowerhorn for the past 2 days. I have noticed that he has been pooping a lot more. Is this a sign that it was working? Also another thing that I want to point out is that, when he is breathing, he is breathing normally but it gets a hiccup it looks like it want to vomit. Do you think prozipro could treat it?Welcome to the forum Nicholas. However, if your fish is not eating things get more complicated: in that case it might require taking your fish out of the tank and administering either epsom salt solution and/or metronidazole orally via syringe with tubing but that's beyond my level to advise further upon, hopefully others will chime in or you can find some good info on the thread above. Best of luck.
Hi RD, for the past few days I have been treating my flower horn with prazipro. I have been noticing that he has been pooping more when I started using prazipro. Do you think it is working? Also is prazipro the right medication to use?Classic signs of Spironucleus vortens aka Hexamita.
