on the plate, it looks like there are 2 layers of eggs. Last two times carpintis was so inexperienced, but this time its guarding and fertilizing, hope parrot doesn't eat all the eggs this time. I'll guess 200-300 eggs.
some eggs have turned white. Due to parrot's deformed mouth, it tried but could not grab the white eggs, is it ok to leave these white eggs there or I must take action to avoid fungus spreading?
Just leave em, mom will pull all eggs to move them to nest on bottom of tank and leave the white ones(they will get eaten), unless of course if you are going to remove here once the eggs start wiggling. A few white eggs isn't really going to mess anything up, unless there are a lot of them, but if not don't worry.
I currently have approx. 500 red tex fry now, and they are still with mom and dad, they are great parents, constantly, workin to keep them all in line. And they are veracious eaters!!!!
thx, hope i get 2 red female srt.
the eggs on the plate 40% turned white, eggs inside the flowerpot are mostly brown.
It seems like theres another layer of eggs above the white eggs, thus the parrot is unable to get them out.
How many days does it usually take for eggs to hatch? I set temperature to 82F.
