Hello

I was inspired by Jeremy Wade in jungle killer episode of River Monsters on Discovery channel

Is it possible to keep more than one of theese together in at tank 1460 liters (240cm long 80cm wide 70cm high)

Anyone up for sharring some pic´s ?

Cheers

i'm not sure what episode you're refering to, if it's the black piranhas from season 3, they're ternetzis, they can be kept together but if they're rhoms from the previous seasons, they're to be kept solo. i'm assuming you meant the older episode because you mentioned red eyes

they're Serrasalmus rhombeus or more commonly refered to as rhoms when you do your research

here's some pics of the ternz from river monsters

yup, you can definity put a rhom in the tank you have.

I believe Jungle Killer is the next up coming episode starts Monday (5/31) 10pm. it's about wolffish (Hoplias Aimara), I think I saw rhombeus in the previews so that's probably what the OP was talking about. the tank is certainly big enough for a rhom, but it might look a little empty tho if its just a bare tank. with a tank that size personally I would go with a shoal of cariba or ternetzi or big shoal of reds. but if you can get your hands on a large rhom then you can try to keep bunch smaller fish in with it, the ones you don't care much if they get eaten. and get the tank nicely decorated with driftwood and plants, it'll look very sweet.
personally I like diamond variant rhombeus but they don't get as large, at least the ones being imported aren't as large as the regular black one.
usually 11-12" diamond are the biggest ones you can get, 13-14" is very rare. at least in the US that is.
here's my old 12"
