Hello MFK,
Sad news today, lost my big male panamensis that I've had since 2016. He was already about 3" when I got him, so I am guessing he was around 7 years old. I am in the middle of a move and had him in a temporary tank, this morning went to check on him and he was gone already. Not quite sure why, the swordtail that was in there with him was OK and I've done this many times before, moved him probably 5-6 times in total. Maybe just too much stress at this point for him.
He will be missed, wanted to make this post to show his final photo.
He was over 7" and chunky at the time of passing, biggest example of his species I have seen or heard of.

Here he is in august of this past year

And this was him in 2018

Good bye big boy, you will be missed!
