River Nerite Snails: check it out

I got these guys out of Dniester River, but they are all over Europe. They are completely freshwater. Yes, these river nerite snails actually breed in freshwater. Perfectly fine for any tank, cold water or tropical. They only downside is that they are much smaller and less colorful than marine and brackish nerties. This species is Theodoxus fluviatilis. Oh and these river nerites like to lay eggs on each other's shell. you can see it on these photos.

Very interesting I'm actually considering if they have some available for purchase, they do lack the color of the brackish nerites but the patterning toward the end of the shell is appealing and I like how the shells have the texture to the back of the shell. What is the max size on these. If they're native to Europe I'm assuming they naturally don't experience water temperatures in the high 70s low 80s. Have you kept them in a tropical tank before?

I have kept them in tropical water without any problems. I even had a breeding colony of them. They are great at eating algae. great little guys. they dont get as large as brackish nerites. the ones on the photo are their average size. the biggest i've seen is the size of a ladybug
