Would roselins sharks work with bichir, ropefish, pearl gourami, and African butterflyfish? Looking for a mid water column active fish. And how many in a 160 gallon tall tank? Any other info would be appreciated; fin nippers, plant safe and what kind of plants if yes, diet for best color, etc.

Roseline sharks are peaceful community fish that hit a max length of around 5-6". Bichirs have a maw that opens to their own approximate OD and are not peaceful community fish. You may house them together briefly.

I think it depends on the type of bichir you have and the individual bichir whether it will work or not. Sens and delhezi might be ok, but there’s no guarantees. Ropefish are bichirs too. I think the rest are pretty safe together with roselines.

One other aspect of Roselines, is that they come from fairly fast flowing cool water streams in the highlands of India. where water temps get as low as 60"F, and will last longer and be healthier under those subtropical conditions.
Although they might take water temps into the mid 70s, that is not always the best for long term health.
Whereas the gouramis and other fish you mention are warmer water, much IMG_5974.jpegslower flow species.
Although not shot from Asia, the shot above is a natural type habitat these barbs come from.

I bought a colony of adult torpedo barbs/ roseline sharks and housed them with adult endlichere and ornates. The barbs disappeared slowly as the bichirs hunted them down. Might work if you have a senegal or smaller bichirs.
Delhezi and albino Senegal both have ignored mosquito fish I put in for them to eat for months

Thank you didn’t know they were a cooler water species I’ll hold off on buying them

I agree because feeding is going to be a problem imo.
So far so good the ABFs will eat live and frozen food right out of my hand, bichirs and ropes get the bigger pieces sinking pellets, fish, prawns, worms, and any blood worms brine mysis and smaller bits of food that make it past the gourami
