So I have two royal plecos. They are still small. One has intensified his stripes (left) and the other had become more blended (right). Are there different versions of royal plecos? I am curious about these two. Thank you in advance for your replies.
As above, L190 is a names species (Panaque nigrolineatus) and L191 is an as-yet undescribed species, both commonly called "royal pleco", alond with several others from the same group. Both look very nice.

I have one. It looks like the one on the left so l190 I guess. I've had mine for about 2-3 years he was about 1/3" now he's around 3". Great fish I just wish I could see him more. How long have you had yours?
My l191 is the most active out of all my plecos, away out and scavenging for food. L191 loose all their stripes and become a nice solid green when adult. I notice L190 & l191 both have the same teeth pattern. Nice royals you have there by the way.
