I know that I don't want to get a common pleco because they get too big and make too much mess, but of these 2 options which do you think are better cleaners? I think rubber's get approx 10" and bristles get 6" correct? any input would be appreciated.

You are the best cleaner.
Which do you like better?

Get both. As babies they will take a while to grow.

Good point on the first line. haha

leaning towards the rubberlip just wanted to see if there was any particular reason bristles were more beneficial

They are both good cleaners. But they also produce waste. And that adds to the cleaning that you need to do. Getting 1 of each is a good idea. But if you can only get 1,the choice is yours. They both get to be around 6 or 7 inches when fully grown.

BTW,if you do get one,you will need to feed it sinking spirulina discs, and they will also take blanched veggies.
5 or 6 inches is probably a more realistic adult size for both of them too.

will do, i'm currently contemplating between a tank with a couple senegals and maybe a mid sized cichlid or getting a couple cichlids with a pleco, decision is killing me haha

Most rubber nose pleocs are wild caught still and I have had little to no luck getting them to eat fish food. I don't have rubber nose plecos any more. I keep BN plecos and love them they eat everything will clean algea and eat left overs they are great and fun to watch also are not picky about water temp or water movment. Rubbernose do better in cool water 70F or lower they also love strong water flow. They will not thrive if kept in a basic tank set up IME. Stick to the trusty bushy nose they are hardy awesome fish not as demanding.

My female BN pleco is 2 years old and only 3" they don't get big fast.

^^ that's what i needed to hear, if my setup ends up involving a pleco, it shall be one of those, thanks

What tank are they going in? In your 10g/future45g stock, either would be good, I'd only really recommend a BN if it's with bichirs, and a jag would swallow either of those whole.
