Those of you that are using rubbemaid stock ponds did you use or replace the bulkhead fitting it came with? I just purchased a 150 gallon pond and it has 1 1/4 inch bulkhead fitting. I have read very mixed things about the fitting it comes with
thank you

I replace the fittings on my stock tanks with different bulkheads. I've heard stories of the original bulkheads leaking. I do not feel like risking it.
I also like to add valves to the replaced bulkheads for easier water changes.

Did you keep it at 11/4 bulkhead?

I've replaces the stock one with a 1 1/4" threated PVC connected to a ball valve and connection to a hose so that I can drain easily. Use plumbers tape and it won't leak :)
Did you replace it with 1 1/4 inch bulkhead and then connect to that? Looking for some clarification on your post
Thank you

Yes - It's been a minute but I recall replacing the drain plug with a threaded 1 1/4" PVC fitting and then connected that to a 1 1/4" ball valve. I connected that to a hose connector and sump pump drain hose, which emptied out into my yard (when I opened the ball valve). The inhabitant of the tub at the time was a big African Lungfish so it worked great to drain and suck out chewed up food and lungfish poop :)

This is pretty much what I did. Works great as easy maintenance.
