I'm looking for some kind of fish that would sift the sand at the bottom of the tank, reaches around 12", is nice looking of course, afordabld, and would be fine in a 200 gallon with aggressive fish

Jurupari. Any spawning cichlids. How aggressive are we talking?

Geo's AKA eartheaters - perfect match

Eartheaters have those streamers, though. It'd suck if they were ruined.

A Red Devil? They usually completely shift the gravel as they see fit, and they can definitely fend for themselves in an aggressive tank.

Nope. Satanoperca are one of the most peaceful genus on the planet. They would go downhill in a hurry..

This > 'Geophagus' brasiliensis brasi's are fine with more aggressive fish, reach 12" and will turn over a 200 tank bottom in about 10 minutes.. They have beautiful colors as well. Look into "bahia red"

true, guess it depends on what kind of other aggressive fish we're talking

Yeah, it totally depends on your definition of aggressive.

When I say aggressive I mean arowana, oscar, gar, shovelnose cat, etc.

Are there any eartheaters that are available at Petsmart? That would be really convenient for me because our closest exotic fish store is 2 hours away

Those are not aggressive fish. A Jurupari would be happy in there.

I'm a teen so for me those are pretty aggressive lol at least compared to all my community tanks. They may not be real killers but they do cause harm to fish who can't defend themselves so to me I say that's aggressive. On this site "aggressive" is more of an opinion though I think
