I went to petco to price the aspen bedding and compare the dust content to the aspen bedding I saw at the local walmart.
I saw that they had new animals, including baby crested geckos for $50.
I also noticed that the same large female crested that I saw a few weeks go, had a friend of equal size, and they were marked down 25% from the $50 price of the babies.
I asked a girl that works there if the babies were 25% off too, and she said they weren't. She said the large ones were on sale because they had them a long time and they needed to move them out.
She also told me that someone had recently returned the male because he wasn't eating, yet this guy was fat and very healthy looking other than a bit of bad shed.
She told me she would sell me them both 50% off, so it was buy one, get one for $50.
Wow! I couldn't leave them there, so I brought them both home, especially since the male has a beautiful olive green color, my favorite color on a crested.
Low and behold, when I put them in my viv, the female starts digging!!
So this is my new pair of crested geckos, check em' out:
Male (this is his normal color, he fires up black!):
Female (is that kinked tail a deformity or deficiency of some kind?):
