the rare red X rhombeus

ok, i'm not a rhom expert n i suggest u to post more pictures since juveniles are hard to differenciate.

still, in my opinion, u have one jet black high back rhom from rio nanay-peru (see first pics, i posted the juvenile pic n adult pics)

and you have a brazilian rio araguaia (last pics, again, juvi+adults)

both become nice rhoms so u should look for the one who's the most quick adapting to you.
again,im not an expert, but i think im wright on that one...still, it is hard to differenciate juveniles rhoms, it will be much easier to dissociate as they grow up.

a rhom is a rhom. you can call it whatever you want, but in the end there is only one spieces of serrasalmus rhombeus.

yes i agree, but they dont all look da same, so it may be important for the owner to know what geographical region it comes from to know how his fish will look like as an adult.

these two kind look similar, yes, but some are less massive and thinner, some are purple-black, some are almost white...u know, it does make a difference even if in the end, yes it is a rhom

There is absolutely no way to tell where the rhom came with out knowing its collection point. without know where it was collected all you would be doing is guessing. you can call the fish whatever you want but its only a s. rhom

true that its real hard to differenciate juvi rhoms. i just dont think da guy knows the collect point n i tried to help him da best i could, but never had da pretention to say i'm sure of what i advanced...

Even when a rhom is beyond their juvenile phase it is still impossibel to tell where the rhom was collected. All that truely matters is that a rhom is a rhom. You could call a purple star box diamond rhom if you wanted to, but it is still just a rhom.

thnx guyzz that help allot .,.,anyway
i have a great tank and nice filter etc anyway i can speed the grow a bit.,.
