This is a hypothetical question, you know "what if".Has anybody had experience or seen/had one of these.Im not planning on getting one anytime soon, just wondering what it would be like and the requirements too.

Lots of floor space, a sand filter, multi hp pumps, big pt skimmer, big bio tower, huge food budget, lots of light, temp control and money for a water bill the size of a small European country.

What size are you thinking?

Personally, I'd put in a free standing fiber glass oval with a large acrylic window or two. Best bet for your money. Check out www.redewald.com/aqua.html I love using there stuff. Easy to set up and get going. Very strong for long term, too. So many options to look at: round or oval - and you can build to fit your needs.

Is that if you use a square shaped or if u use circle/oval shaped one?or is it both?

Many people have Shark / Ray ponds ranging from small 250 gallon systems all the way up to 35,000 gallon pools. Some are converted swimming pools, some are made right out of cinder blocks, some are dug into grounds, some are made out of woods. Multiple ways to build one for all different budgets really. If you visit the link in my signature there are multiple threads on Pond builds.

I dont no exactly wat kind they are but i think i saw one that was like a black tip reef shark and they do sell to the public but u have to prove u can take care of them that store is really cool a little high in price but worth it.

Well - first I would suggest figuring out the kind of shark you interested in. This will give a real clue as to what kind & size of shark pond you'll need.

For active swimming species - small requiems - i.e. Blacktip Reef, or Bonnethead. A large circular or oval shaped pond - such as a large above ground pool, or fiberglass aquaculture tank, that are 10's of thousands of gallons. Although with Blacktip Reefs - I would suggest looking for one that at least 5' deep.

For Benthic species - such as bamboos, epaulettes, coral cats & Horns. They can easily be kept & possible breed in much smaller ponds. I've heard of Eppies breeding in a 1,000 gal pond. You can D.I.Y. out of wood & (fish-safe)plastic liners, or you pre-made poly-ponds(like Rubbermaid), or evem small swimming pools, or fiberglass tanks.

Tihs is all very interesting and helpful. But it does sound costly.IF i was to build one/buy one,i would probably only keep bamboo, cat,or port jacksons.Remeber, this is a what if or what to do question.I'm not planning on getting one soon, though.
