Regarding shortbody max size, that'll vary depending on the degree of shortness. My concern with shortbody is people love fat/round fish so they have a tendency to overfeed which I believe will shorten their life span. Some of them look like they're going to explode any moment. Yikes. :WHOA:

i have not kept sbs, but i have had the same train of thought, and what stood out to me, is they should be treated the same as the fullsize models, same bioload, same feeding behavior, same aggression, the only difference is they are smaller so i think people tend to think they are more managable than the regular sized guys, but its more or less the same.

If you're going to keep shortbody fish, I'd much rather you get a bigger tank and keep the normal forms which are much healthier. If you can't provide for a normal one, then don't keep them at all. Simple.

I don't have a pic on this phone will upload when I get home.

I had a SB Flowerhorn I named Toe Rogan and he was the best fish I had. Would let me pet him, always came around followed my finger anywhere around the tank, even let me cup him in my hand. He also had the biggest KOK out of all the fhs I have grown out. Have no idea if it was because his half body but it was almost the size of his half body. He wasn't as aggressive towards the end of his life and I had him for almost 5 years.

I believe he died earlier then normal because his health was weaker do to being a short body fish.

He was upside dead when he was UPS next day aired but I brought him back by adding salt, putting an extra air tube close to him, and covering the tank.

I personally don't care for short bodies but IMO short body flower horns should of never been created they are all messed up already then to bred the short body gene into them, (BAD)
