Just thought it would be nice to see how some of the more common oscars turned out given the right care and proper tank size. So, give a pic, and tell us the history of your O along with tanksize and filtration!

That is 1 of 2 red oscars I got from Petsmart. I bought both of these guys in July of 2010. I got the smallest size possible which was right around 1". They started out in a 75g along with some other green terrors, jacks and jag. They only lived there for a month, when they got moved into the there current tank (72x18x30). They are living with a jag, breeding pair of jacks and 4 green terrors. All the other fish are around the 4" mark. The biggest oscar is right aroudn 7" and the smaller one is about 5.5" They get fed as much as they can eat and their diet is krill, shrimp, cichlid staple and cichlid bio gold. Tank is filtered by 2 xp4's and has 2 50% water changes weekly.

I got 2 Tiger Oscars from Petsmart they started out in a 29G while I was setting up a 75. I've currently got 2 different 75 gallon tanks and they have been in both of them over the past year. Currently they are in the 75 in the Kids room along with a Rose Queen flower horn. The two Oscars are about 11-12" each and the Rose Queen is about 8" most recent pics I have of them was from this past July. Maybe today I'll get around to taking some new ones of them. Filtration is 2 Eheim 2217's but seems that only one is working at a time lol Currently waiting on a couple parts for one of them to get it back up and running. I've also got a power head with a sponge filter on it.

Here is my Lutino Oscar (purchased at Petsmart as an Albino :) ) It's one of the few things I bought at Petsmart that I am happy about!

OSCAR.jpg

She's in a 150 with her Albino mate among others. The tank is using two AC110 HOB filters and one Rena XP4 Canister. She is approximately 3 months old and doing really well. Most definitely the "Matriarch" of the tank lol.

Thank you :)

It's a 150 "fat boy"...48 long, 24 deep, 30 high. Its still a work in progress, but so far, things are going well!

Thanks again...
