Help! Tolken, my "midas" (midevil, who knows) seems to have something going on with his noggin. On what I would call his forehead, underneath his actual nuchal hump, he's growing a swollen bulge. I thought it looked a little puffer and more pronounced than usual a week ago but thought maybe I was imagining things. But today it's DEFINITELY larger and not normal. In addition to appearing like a soft puffy bugle, today I can see what almost looks like what I'd call white puss tricking out of it in one spot. Photos aren't the best but you can see it just above his eye and over a smidge. The video shows it better, particularly towards the end.

He was eating and acting normally until 5 or 6 days ago. I noticed he wasn't eating, though seemed to act like normal otherwise. Today he's a bit shy, hanging out in his den but not completely.

I did a 75% water change just now (that's air bubbles in the photos, not junk or debris) and added Melafix and Kanaplex. Not sure what else to do? Dosing a tank this big is going to deplete my stock of both quickly so I'm going to order more from Ken's Fish (they get the meds not allowed in Canada across the border). Is there something else I should maybe look at ordering as well?

It is possible it’s a foreign body? He’s a big boy. Could he have poked himself on something sharp; rock or driftwood perhaps?
The presence of pus is typically bacterial, so in addition to the kanaplex, I would add salt at 1tbsp/2gal to disrupt the bacterial life cycle and reduce the shed bacterial load in the water column.
Kanaplex is for gram negative bacterial infections and the beneficial bacteria, nitrosomas and nitrobactors, are also gram negative bacteria so keep an eye on your ammonia/nitrite levels as there will be some disruption to you good bacteria colonies.
You may need to increase the frequency/% of your water changes for a couple of weeks after you finish dosing. I would keep the salt concentration at the same level replacing w your water changes for 2 weeks after the kanaplex dosing is done. Salt helps prevent nitrite sickness in fish as well as the benefits to reducing bacterial loads.
Let us know how he does! 🙏🏼🤗

Oh I automatically add salt whenever I need to medicate, it's always at least part of my first step. Forgot to include that.

No, there was no sign of any wound or anything in advance, just normal looking skin until it started to swell. I'll keep on my current treatment plan and monitor him. Thanks.

Oh jeez, I just realized I had a typo in the post. I have dosed with METROPLEX and Kanaplex, NOT Melafix. Sorry.
