Small monkeys?

I met a person with a marmoset the other day.
He said the monkey was $4000 and he bought it in Chicago.
Does anyone know about keeping small monkeys as pets?

The marmoset seemed to really like him and others.
I also pet the little critter, he/she was super cute!
He basically seemed to stay on the mans shoulder or arm, even though we were in a crowd.

All marmosets are listed as endangered (various degrees). All are illegal to have as pets at home.

We had a Macaque when I was in Afghanistan in 2010-2011. Fun to have but he flung poop all over the place and loved to "Spiderman" the females that we had attached to us. I would not recommend having one though.

I always advise people looking into this....don't. Entertain the idea but you don't know what you're getting into.
I have raised and kept 2 monkeys on two sperate occasions. Total PITA if not semi-wild. Break things, needy, aggressive if not handled properly. Primates are not pets. They have complex social structures and needs which we cannot give.
There are many other more suitable small mammal pets.

Nah not everywhere. Really depends on local legislation
