As I'm upgrading my mudskipper tank, I feel like I could add a snail or two. I personally would like a "terrestrial snail", and a aquatic snail.
Although I'm scared if it would cause any damage to the mudskipper or the proposed snails themselves. I'm looking for a nerite snail for the mudskipper, but I don't know what kind to get. Olive, tiger, zebra I don't know. For the terrestrial species, I'm looking at marsh periwinkles. I can get them easily since I live right next to a mangrove forest.
I'm worried, though, that Periwinkles produce a huge amount of mucus when moving, and will possibly muddy-up the land part of the tank.
So, in short, for just a basic 20 gal long mudskipper tank, which type of nerite snail would be the best species for a brackish tank. Should I also be able to have a periwinkle snail in their? Or should I ditch snails all together?
And just for an extra bit of info, how should I acclimate a nerite snail, or make sure it's not carrying any diseases for mudskippers?
