Hey I have a tank with some red snakeheads and have been looking into good things to feed them. I just recently tried whole prawns and they seem to really like them. Is there an advantage to feeding them whole prawns as opposed to ones without the shells, heads and guts? They are only about 6inches right now so im cutting the prawns in half into 2inch pieces. info greatly appreciated, thnx.

I was worried about them being sharp too but they didnt seem to mind, ill try like this for a while and post how it goes.

Roughage?

Probably in the shell its a more natural food as opposed to processed shelled.Only reason I take heads off is in tanks they wont feed from top as often air is trapped in shell round head making them float.

If they'll eat them whole, I'd leave it that way. Its a more complete (nutritious)food source.

feed them carp bigger than themselves to see if they can tagteam to rip it apart. That's the fun of owning a snakehead.
