I have a 75 gallon tank for my silver arowana. I want to know if two sponge filters would be sufficient for the tank.
Ill be upgrading to a new 150 tank in a few months.

Depending on the size of the aro and sponge filter, it could be sufficient biologically wise. I would try to throw something else in, such as a bag of media would help if it's already cycled. However, to keep the water clean and deal with nitrates, water changes will probably be necessary every day or two I would imagine, especially if your power feeding. Do you have a plan C for when it outgrows the 150 gallon?

Thank you for the advice.
I have a 300 gallon tank. Ill be transferring him to that tank.

You could look at Tower Block Filters from Swiss Tropicals in the 300. Should work out wonderfully, especially if it's a single Arowana in the tank.
I just installed a Porrett foam block (Matten) from Swiss Tropicals, it covers the entire end of a 125, turning that that entire end into a combination bio/mechanical filter (there are a few mesh bags of seasoned ceramic rings until the Porrett is colonized).

Two tanks are combined, a 180 and a 125, so it will be used to filter about 300 gallons, using a 1500 GPH pump behind the Porrett wall.
