Noticed this spot under neck for a few weeks, hes about 4 inches.

All my years with oscars dont recall seeing this, doesnt look fungal, just looks like a raised spod of scales, any thots

Maybe some raised scales. Does it lay around a lot? Clean water and make sure it’s eating. Hope it’s enough to make it go away.

To me, a 30 to 40% water change once per week, is quite lax, and the 25 ppm nitrate concentration is an indicator of that,
so unless you intend to double or triple the amount of water changes and volume, there may be more serious maladies to come, on down the road, such as HITH.
