Been a long road with my Pearsei but the big girl passed (16"). I had her a good 8 yrs plus and I figure she was likely at least a year and a half old when I got her so figuring she was about 10 when she passed.
So time for a new cichlid to raise out... Have decided to try my hand at some Hoga from a buddy of mine.

There are three Hoga total with the dominant one believed to be male. the other two is a guess but would say second male and a female. Aggression is very high amongst themselves and the dominant fish goes after some large balas in the tank but pays no attention to any of the bichir.
Interesting too that these Hoga show so much red. My buddy said that this batch originated from back East and seem to be much different than what was normally in my area.
