Hello,

Looking for an answer to my questions here. I have a pair of 14cm (5.5") potamorygon stingray that I currently housed in a 100Lx40Wx40H centimeter tank (35cm or 13" water depth). I'm planning to move them into 260Lx100Wx105H centimeter tank that has 85cm (34") water depth.

Would 85cm (34") water depth be harmful for the 14cm (5.5") stingray pup? If so, what would the minimum size of stingray that could be safely housed in 85cm (34") water depth?

If it is OK to move them into the large tank, is there any ritual or safe ways to move them into the tank with that water depth?

Thanks in advance87E33486-B4FA-4A2D-851C-2F6E47AD2120.jpeg

Should be no issues.

I asked many friends about this and they told me that the water pressure at 33" depth would be too strong for 5.5" rays. I would love to move them to the bigger tank. Worried that this would be an issue.

i have a home breeder who rays gave birth in 36 inch height tanks... so i don't think it is an issue.....

i bought from him the rays and placed it in my 24 inch height tanks

The thing is, it's different if the rays were birthed there. They will be so acclimated to the tank condition. These two rays never been in such depth. It would be a different story if these rays are 10". They are more mature and strong enough to withstand the pressure.

Never heard or considered this train of thought before. I kept tiny, baby 4.5" or so pups in a 36" tall tank for 8mo with no noticeable effects and currently have some 6" or so juveniles in a 36" tank as well with no issues.
