Long time lurker, first time poster. I recently scooped a double stack 75 gallon setup for a steal of a deal. These are my first 2 tanks in about 10 years so I'm really excited about it. I've kept a lot of stuff over the years and kind of want to mix it up and do something unusual.
For one of the tanks I'm going to go for a Congo Oddball biotype. elephant nose, african butterflies, ropefish, Congo tetras, brown knife, maybe some spotted congo puffers.
The second tank though Idk what I'm going to do. I've kept african cichlids before and I've thought of doing that again.. . I could be swayed to do some kind of single specimen puppy dog fish. I had a fahaka back in the day but I know that a 75 isn't big enough long term. I've thought about axolotls but I don't have anywhere to hide the chiller and I don't like having plumbing out in a visible area.. Ideally I would like to be able to have some plants as I've already got the substrate set up for plants. I'm open to any and all suggestions. I saw a mata mata in the store the other day. Never kept one of those... but reading up on that a 75 gallon isn't big enough . I want to do something unique.
