What's a good density of styrofoam to use for under my aquarium? Never used it and need help buying the righr stuff for my new acrylic tank? Please help me make sure I don't buy the wrong thing? Thanks

Really why do I here about styrofoam all the time then? I was going to buy some hardens fiber wood but saw styrofoam in the store and decided to wait and see what more people on here say

Styrofoam is for glass none trimmed tanks.

I have foam on one tank. It's 1/2" real heavy from Home Depot I think it's got the black and blue sides used for exterior insulation. And my other tank no foam. Lots of debate on this All I can say is that I have no problems either way

my 180 is a custom built not trimmed tank, it needs the pad, trimmed tanks do not, and in some cases will void the warranty.
