Hi !
do you think that colors of the Ps are usually enhanced more by a dark or a bright (white sand) substrate ?
I’m deciding what to put in my tank for a future S. Sanchezi and I read some people say dark and other said bright on the Internet, interested in knowing more opinions before I decide 🙏

I would do dark. Piranhas generally like it darker anyway, so the dark substrate will help the fish feel more comfortable (and in turn show better colors).
+1 since they lurk amongst aquatic plants, root balls and over hangs waiting on their prey I’d have to agree w Deadeye Deadeye reply & rationale

I would go with something more in the middle. Maybe a tan, sandstone colored, rounded river rock, or sand.

Light substrate will likely wash the fish's color out. Dark substrate tends to make the tank look drab.
